Our Unique Mission

Leadership Greater McHenry County educates and inspires professionals

to engage in community leadership.

Educate

LGMC's ten month program highlights exemplary leaders in the county, and builds community knowledge. The first five months are planned by a committee of LGMC graduates focusing on contemporary local topics. The subsequent months participants work in teams to explore and present issues that peak their interest.

Inspire

Through this enriching experience participants meet dynamic leaders and explore the community. Ultimately they are encouraged to take action in shaping our county's future.

Professionals

Participants join a network of engaged leaders from throughout greater McHenry County. Upon acceptance to the program they become part of the LGMC Alumni Association with over 250 members. Alumni have access to continuing educational and networking opportunities to help them advance their servant leadership.

Community Leadership

Woven throughout the program are the five practice of exemplary leadership:  Model the way, Inspire a shared vision, Challenge the process, Enable others to act, and Encourage the heart  based on the work of Kouzes and Posner.
